Why should I choose Strings Attached to perform for my wedding?
Strings Attached is passionate about performing and the quality of music we provide.  Feel free to listen to our sounclips to hear for yourself.   Our string ensembles come complete with everything you’ll need; no need to provide any additional equipment, canopy, or sound system. Also we know how to tailor the music to fit your unique ceremony timing so there are no awkward cutoffs or waiting too long for a song to end. Everything will flow smoothly and seamlessly.

When can I expect the musicians to arrive?
We will be on location 30-40 minutes prior to our time to play. At this time, we will meet with your officiant or coordinator for last minute instructions.

What do you play as the guests arrive and for how long?
We start playing approximately 15-20 minutes before the ceremony begins. We typically play a choice of light classical or romantic contemporary selections (your choice) that sets the perfect mood for your wedding. You may also choose your own selections from our complete music list.

How will the musicians dress?
Our standard attire is formal/concert black. If you prefer different attire, for example tux or a more casual look for an outdoor/beach wedding, we are happy to accommodate.

What part of the ceremony do you play?
We perform Prelude music approximately 15-20 minutes before the start of the ceremony, music for the Processional (bride, bridesmaids, seating of the parents, etc.), Recessional, and 5-10 minutes of Postlude - exit music for your guests. We will also perform music during any special moments within your ceremony such as candle lighting, prayer, communion, etc. if applicable. This usually totals about an hour’s worth of time.

How do I select music – especially if I don’t know much about music?
We will be more than happy to work with you to help you choose your music program. If you are unfamiliar with the music titles, do not worry. We’ve compiled a list of the most common selections for each part of the ceremony. You can also listen to some short clips on our website of the more common selections under the link Music & Ensembles. Most couples feel this is all they need to plan the music for the entire ceremony. These are only our suggestions and you may choose any piece(s) for any part of the wedding. The Strings Attached music list includes classical, popular, romantic, jazz standards, rock, and Broadway selections.

There is a special piece of music I would like performed. Can you do that?
Yes. Even if it is not available in our repertoire or available for string quartet, we will be happy to write an arrangement for the quartet (a fee applies). Please allow 3 weeks before the wedding date to give us time to arrange it.

Will you perform with guest instrumentalists or singers?
Absolutely. A rehearsal with the guest is required at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony and this usually adds an additional charge. If the piece is not in our repertoire, we will need a copy of the music 3 weeks before the wedding date in order to have time to arrange it.

Do the musicians attend the dress rehearsal?
It is not necessary for us to be present at your rehearsal, which saves you money. Because we have performed countless weddings, we are experienced in exactly how to time the music for your ceremony. Only a quick conversation with your officiant or your wedding coordinator before the ceremony begins is required to have all the information we need. If you feel more comfortable having a musician present for your rehearsal, we can arrange this for an additional fee.

What do I need to provide for the musicians?
We will need a safe space of approximately 8’ x 10’ and an armless straight chair for each musician. No sound system or electricity is needed for stringed instruments.  If the wedding is outdoors, the musicians will need to be seated in a completely shaded area to protect their instruments. Strings Attached provides a white 8’ x 8’ canopy free of charge for our musicians in case of an outdoor event with no shade. This in turn saves you tremendous money and hassle that other companies don't provide. We'll take care of everything for you!

How soon in advance should I contact you to reserve a wedding date?
As soon as you have your wedding date and location! We fill our books quickly and the sooner you can reserve your date, the more likely you can enjoy the beautiful music of Strings Attached at your wedding. We require a 50% deposit and a signed contract agreement (which we provide) to reserve your requested date and time. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the ceremony. We accept credit cards, money orders, and checks. Please make checks payable to Strings Attached, Inc.  Credit card payments can be made quickly and easily online at the bottom of our "Contact Us" page.

Are you insured?
Yes! All Strings Attached groups are insured under full liability insurance for your peace of mind. More and more venues (such as the Ritz-Carlton and the Marriot family of Hotels) are requiring this from wedding and event vendors so be sure you pick vendors that are covered.
